When it comes to tanning, exfoliation is key. If you have any dirt or dead skin cells hanging around, your chances of having a patchy tan are much, much higher because the tan will fade in some spots quicker. You can use any of our self-tan or gradual tan products on your face as well, but we recommend only using the leftover residue on your mitt to avoid using too much, as our faces absorb product easier.

To prevent streaking or blotchiness, ensure your skin is well exfoliated and hydrated afterwards by drinking water and moisturizing daily. When applying the tan, wait until it feels slightly dry on your skin, then put on some loose, dark clothing to prevent any unwanted staining or rubbing from tight clothes.

For the first shower after tanning, we recommend no soaps, just lukewarm water and a super quick (about 45 seconds) rinse, so the tanning actives can keep developing to their darkest potential.
